York Eats is operated by Uppercut Labs. This page explains the information used by the website. Updated 22 September 2026.
Saved places
When you save a venue, its identifier is stored in your browser’s local storage on this device. We do not create an account or send your shortlist to our server. Unsave places or clear this site’s browser storage to remove it.
Enquiries and listing requests
If you submit a listing request, we receive the contact and venue details you enter so we can review and respond. Email delivery is handled by Resend when configured. Please do not include sensitive personal information in the notes. We use enquiry information to handle the request, not to subscribe you to marketing.
Hosting and analytics
Vercel hosts the site and provides Web Analytics, which helps us understand page usage. Hosting services also process technical request information for delivery and security. See Vercel’s analytics privacy information.
Google Maps photos
Where available, venue photos load from Google through the Places API. Your browser contacts Google to display the image and author avatar. Google’s handling of this information is described in its Privacy Policy. Links to maps open Google’s service. We do not store copies of venue photos.
Payments
Featured listing payments are handled through Stripe Checkout. Stripe collects payment information; York Eats does not receive your full card details. We use subscription and contact information to provide the purchased service and handle billing enquiries.
Advertising
If advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where you consent. Advertising choices are presented through the consent message when applicable. See how Google uses information from partner sites. Advertising remains disabled while approval and consent configuration are pending.

For questions about information you have sent us, or to request access, correction or deletion, email hello@uppercutlabs.co.uk. Include enough context for us to locate your enquiry without sending passwords or payment details.
